I used a couple of layers and masks to boost the contrast in various parts of this image. Was fairly happy with the results of the conversion, but interested to hear your thoughts.

Steve
What a cracker of a shot - it feels like it's a really old image - you've done very well with this. Oddly I think snow not sand when I look at the image. My only nit pick is the sky top left - its a little too bright whcih grabs my eye a little. I'd be tempted to crop just a smidge from the top to bring the eye back to the foreground,

Great shot Steve I like the mood clouds, the dunes have a great texture and then the falling part path works great.

The conversion looks really good
Is there a hint of Sepia or are my eyes gone? Either way, it works. The path and angle in the image also make the shot for me.

I think this is a cracker too. It's fantastic. I love when a B&W image is done well. Really nice
