I really like it. I like how your eyes follow to the red kite which stands out.

The composition makes this image - well done.

Unfortunately, the way the highlights in the sky are being clipped is detracting from its impact at the moment. It would have been difficult to expose for, requiring a higher dynamic range than the camera can produce. Black and white can be more forgiving in this case and I feel this image is crying out for a black and white treatment.

I had a go, opting for an infrared style and a little dodging of the foreground and burning of the sky. I also cloned out the other person/objects in the background to make this image all about the boy in the landscape.

(Just ask and it will be removed.)

Thank you all for the comments.

Macka - I like your version and I did experiment with black and white before arriving at my result. In fact my image has black and white blended into the image at a reduced opacity. The grass and trees are all very desaturated in my image. I then brought the colour back to the sky, the boy and kite as the latter two are where I wanted the focus of the image to be. I feel the black and white is great, but it's missing the focus which I want to be the boy and the kite.

Cheers

I really like it... and the idea behind it... the edit is also fab as I feel that it brings more focus onto the boy and the kte... although dare I say it selective colour may also work here (mayeb slightly desaturated though).. the first thing I thought when I saw this image was thos people in the background have to go... and what a difference it makes to the shot..

Its really well thought out this image.. I wish I was as creative.. :)

Thanks for your comments, Bindii. I agree, removing people in the background does make a positive difference.
