Hiding The Sun

This is an image, a HDR merge, from a recent trip to Mount Mee. It was late afternoon, and I'd been hoping for nice sunset, but it ended up being fairly harsh. A short drive on from where I'd planned to shoot from, and I found this place.

C&C appreciated :)

Great shot. Doesn't look obviously HDR to me. Lovely colours, tones and composition.

I'd be tempted to crop a bit off the left of the image as the branches of the other tree are a little distracting.

Other than that I think it's terrific.

Interesting shot - nice use of HDR in this one. Agree on the suggestions of a crop off the lhs, maybe as far as taking the first fence post out? I'd also experiment with taking some of the foreground out with a crop off the bottom - perhaps up as far as the top of that first post.

It's all a matter of personal preference really - I get drawn towards pano crops with landscapes, others don't. Well done on making the effort to get a shot others (including myself) probably wouldn't even try to get :)

As an aside, I'm really liking some of the work that's being done in HDR on this site lately. Unlike some of the earlier work we saw (where there was a tendancy to push every extreme possible), I think there's a move to more subtlety in the images.

Excellent landscape. I love your HDR work. Many HDR images look just a bit too fake, but this one has a very believable look.

This is a beautiful shot, I think the HDR has been implemented really well. Congrats.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions :D I'll definitely have a go at the alternate crops, to see if it improves the image a bit more. Thanks again! :D

Agree on the crop bit. I can see an orange spot near the branches centre left. Perhaps cloning it off may reduce the distraction (at least to my eyes).

Love the shot esp it just doesn't look like a HDR. Thanks for sharing too.
