I hadn't seen the shiney guitars before so I have no idea how they sound but they sure look effective in the shots though... the second image would be my pick although maybe a slight straighten and a crop to lose that wire at the top.. lurvely colours...

Posted: Thu Mar 27, 2008 7:40 pmI think it is a National. You inadvertently mentioned this in your mentioning of the "National Folk Festival" and a person by the name of Steele. National are renowned for making steel guitars. Dobros are usually wooden with the resonator in the middle like the national. They have been making these guitars for a long time.
