A different take on the common Stralitsia. I like it, but does it work for you?

Hi Mark,
When I first looked at this, I wasn't too sure...but after about 30 seconds of REALLY looking at it, it's good!
I like the simplicity of this, as well as the strong contrasting colours...would you consider a squarer crop? (from the top down)? U may think it would lose something from this, but I just put my hand up to 'crop' it and I thought it looked better. Just my thoughts. Keep on posting :)

For something that is complex in nature you have achieved a beautiful simplistic photo Mark.

Love the colours ... Would it be better against a white background?

Geoff... you're right.. a square crop does work on this one. Going to play when I get home.

Cheers Chris.

Surenj.... unfortunately I had to bring the flower indoors because of the rain. There are plenty more in the garden which will have a nice creamy green background at the right angle.. going to give it a go when the weather clears.

Great image Mark. I think the black background is fine, a square crop would be interesting, but the thing that strikes me about this photo is the different concept - these photos are very hard to capture with any originality. Well done.

Ozi.

P.S. I have several of these "birds of paradise" sitting in a vase on our dining room table as I type - you've inspired me to take some photos during lunch break. :)
