beauty portrait - black dressShot this yesterday, looking for some feedback on how I may improve this is PP.
I think I have the camera right accent light half a stop too high, but I like the strong contrast. does the square crop work? any tips on improving this actual image, or suggestions to take on board for next time? thanks heaps
Re: beauty portrait - black dressthe shadow is a little distracting
Re: beauty portrait - black dressthanks Pa, agree, is a crop without the full shadow more suitable as a portrait? and a 4x6 ratio crop?
Re: beauty portrait - black dressI'm afraid it might be the pose, but she looks a little... squashed... to me and a bit distorted, the head appears quite large compared to shoulders

Re: beauty portrait - black dressI agree with Justin. There appears to be some kind of distortion happening. What lens were you using, I'm at work and can't read exif, but it looks like you may have used a WA lens and that tends to make subjects appear smaller at longer distances. The shadow looks a bit distracting.

Re: beauty portrait - black dress
thanks alex, yeah, I was confined with not much space at the foot of the stairs, and to get the stairs width I needed 19mm, so there is some distortion, but not much, the scale of head to body is similar to actual, I think the shoulders side on amplifies this visually.
