Baby in the baptismal font

A series of images I took at a Greek Orthodox Christening last week, I like these in B&W, does the treatment work?

I like the b & w too, but I think perhaps it is a little harsh (just imho) - it makes them look like old pictures, I would like to see them in colour to compare. In the first, I find the white of the table quite distracting. In the 2nd it took me a while to work out what was happening - the hand is so big. It's a nice, sharp capture. The third is lovely.

Hmm...not sure about this series... I am actually not sure how to improve them either.. Would like to see the colours ones...slight desaturation may work...
