Not really a Macro - but I was walking back from the beach and spotted this guy so I got in close with the 24-70 lens and opened right up to limit DOF.

Anyone know their butterfly species? -please don't say it's a moth.

I believe it is a Eurema hecabe. Otherwise know as a Common Grass Yellow butterfly. They are medium in size, have yellow wings with black edge. They are easily found fluttering close to ground. They fly very quickly. We can see them in Brisbane in all seasons. The caterpillar is green in colour with yellow lines each side of body. The caterpillar feeds on Dwarf's Apple Breynia oblongifolia, pinnate Acacia and a weed Sesbania cannabina.

Googled it by the way.. wouldn't know one butterfly from the next

No mate! all natural Lighting - taken with D3 - little bit of work in CS3
