Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Cracking first. Bit more cropping may be better.

Mark,

Put me down for the first of these as well. It's just "there".

Thanks for the comments guys.

Bindii - Colours courtesy of RAW and Lightroom.

Surenj - Yeah, perhaps there's a bit much at the bottom, but this gives space for copy if required or can always be cropped pre-press. To me surf shots are more than just the surfer, there's also the wave, ripples, spay, foam, height changes in the ocean and the listy goes on.... But for display on the web at 800px, perhaps you are right, I could have cropped. :D

Gary - Thanks, lucky timing really, getting the shot with almost all 9ft of the board in the air and isolated from the wave plus the spray from the turn he just completed is what I think gives this pic an edge, if you look just below the surfers back foot you'll see the side fin of the board and that's less than a foot from the tail.

And for those that like spray check this pic out, this guy is riding a SUP (Stand-up Paddleboard)

Mark,

Yes absolutely, all of that, but there's more. Look at the shape of the wave as you've captured this: magic. You have the shape, where he's been, where he's going ... This isn't just lucky timing. Perhaps it's not a whole lot more :), but it's still bloody good.

These wouldn't be out of place in Longboarder.

Great shots Mark.
