Great idea of the mirror Trent :D

I like #1, but maybe stopping the lens down a little bit may bring up details of the fore/background?

Love the idea of #1, but I would agree with Yi-P about stopping it down. Nice one overall, though! :D

Is this a take two on the mirror shots Trent? I seem to recall you trying this before or am I getting mixed up? These are good though, #1 works the best I think!

Yes, I tried some of these last year as a 'why not' kind of thing. I put a bit more thought into these, plus I used a longer lens and had better light.

The DOF is indeed pretty shallow, so stopping down a bit more might indeed be a good option, I certainly had enough light to do so! Thanks for the suggestion guys!

Looks a tad crowded in the runoff area in the second shot, Trent. :)

I think the first of the mirror shots works better than the others. Don't ask me why though.

Thanks Gary, I like #1 the best too. Yeah a bit crowded in the kitty litter, but amazingly both drivers rejoined and finished nose to tail, still on the lead lap!

I found another mirror pic with more DOF, f/7.1 as opposed to the earlier ones which were f/4.5, I think the greater DOF works better, as suggested by those above!

Trent, love one and two. You must have had great reflexes for two!

Ben, these are all with the Sigma 120-300 f/2.8. The mirror shots are at 300mm, the crash at 420mm (with a 1.4x TC). Yeah you're right Glen, it happened pretty fast! No real skill in getting that sort of shot; just be prepared (eyes and ears open) and if it happens, point and spray! :)
