Hi All, here are a couple of pics from a recent camping trip. I decided to go for a walk and see what I could find to photograph and stumbled across some frogs, this was my first go at night time macro photography but I really learnt alot. Out of about 50 shots only a handfull worked out, I was hand holding my SB600 and was using it wirelessly, and had a mate shine the torch onto the frog so I could get the focus right... Taken with a Sigma 105mm macro.

Ben,

Great first effort.

To improve the images you could have gone for a much smaller aperture than f/4.5 as this would have increased the depth of field and more of the frogs would be sharp. With the SB600 you should have been able to go to f/16 and maybe even smaller which would have made a huge difference to the DOF.

Also, softening the light with a diffuser or soft box would have made the lighting more pleasing.

By the way, I believe the frogs are Litoria lesueuri (Lesueur's Frog).
