Last week I took delivery of the new 500 F4 VR. Used this plus a 1.7 teleconverter.

New Lens has a tripod VR setting - seems to work OK.

Rooz, Intentionally contrasy to feature the craters, extremely sharp out of camera with bare minimum of sharpening in PP

indeed, the moon looks unnatural.

and maybe not use black and white? use the natural colour of the moon.
