Which one?

There is something I like in both, I would not know which one to pick.

I like both of these but, if pressed, I would favour #1.

I think it gives me more of a feeling of being there for some reason

I agree, that may be what I could not determine. One was taken at 17mm and the other at 24.

I prefer no.1, but only marginally. Both images are great!

Perhaps a panoramic approach, take the 2nd and lose some of the sky and a little of the sand.

Just to be difficult.....I like the comp in #1 and the colour of #2.

I like the first one better. It feels more 'intimate' than the other.

Just to be original....number 1 is my pick. It's much closer to the action. Somehow no.2 has (in comparison) a lot of sand and a lot of sky which pushes you back from the image.
