Overcast skies

I'm happiest taking landscape shots and even happier when nature puts on blue skies and nice white fluffy clouds. Sadly that's not always the case - last weekend being a great example. I'm really unsure about these two shots (I reckon they need theose blue skies and white fluffy clouds :) ), but there is so much I like about the rest of the images to trash them. So I thought I'd share them here for critique.

I've also done a black and white treatment on this first image (see HERE)

The first doesn't grab me it's certainly nice enough but i don't think you'd be ever satisfied with 'nice' :)
I do like the second image eventhough i agree that a more appealing sky would have really added punch. Having said this i believe anyone of those homes across the Hunter would love to have a copy of the pano highlighting their home. It's a beautiful scene. I think experimenting with your painterly effect a la railway series might have value. :) A little rogue PP'ing may produce some interesting outcomes
cheers

Neither are great. The water mark is annoying as well. I think you are right about the blue sky. They both look pretty washed out and drab to me.
