A few shots I took last Saturday evening. I am looking for a slightly different angle to shoot the mountains from what is normally seen, do these work? All except the 1st shot, were taken using a grad nd filter and bracketed exposures the two portrait shots were blended from two separate exposure. I tried the hdr route in pscs2 but it gives a very ordinary result.

Click on the shot for a larger version. :D

When I turned around this is what I could see.

I think your technique is fantastic, it's producing spectacular results.

Composition I am not sure about - 1st, the blurry wire is sort of distracting, the 2nd, is a picture of the fence because the mountain is the background (perhaps a portrait view?) and the 3rd the post pops out of nowhere so to speak. Just my first impressions.

Thanks for the comments guys I prefer the portrait crops myself. I achieved the effect I was after with the graduation of colours up to the black sky. In the coming weeks I will be trying to shoot some more of the mountains from different vantage points in the North, South, East and West.

Here is one more slightly different composition.
