Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Gang Gangs revisited

The Gang Gangs came to visit again today.
This time the female was the most co operative. The male wouldn't come down from the high tree
I had a chance to adjust my focus :)

Hi, nice shots ! #1 is sharps as but think I'd prefer the bird a little less central - try cropping some off bottom and L/H side - this will align with 1/3 rd a little better and provide some space in front for the bird to look in to. Nice use of the diagonal branch
They are nice to look at but I bet a bit noisy in the backyard ?

They are related. Both are cockatoos. They are much better behaved, but don't have the same sense of fun. Also Galahs tend to travel in flocks, Gang Gangs in family groups. In this case two. They are also MUCH quieter. Sulphur cresteds are the worst.
Galahs are pink body, white head, grey back. We get them too, but at a different time of year.
At the moment we have magpies & wattle birds - they live here too - and silver eyes and another little one that moves too fast to see clearly, several kinds of rosella, and king parrots.
The bower birds have moved on now the raspberries are finished. The currawongs have moved on too. Unusual they usually stay all year. Kookaburras visit now & again, but haven't been here since it got cold.
We also get Sulphur crested and yellow tailed black cockatoos. Occasionally we see red tailed blacks too.
Its fun watching them They each have a different time of day to feed. The maggies seem to be the fat controllers, but are not at all aggressive to us even at mating time.

Thanks Bindii
Not HDR. Don't know how to do that. The Gang Gang was a little overexposed OOC so I knocked it back a tad. Apart from that just cropped and resized.

The bird was lit by flash (2xsb800 on full power) The sky had to look after itself. PS Why is it that I seem to be the only person who prefers the second one?
