a couple of surf shotstaken with the nikon 300mm f4 and tamron teleconverter 1.7 this fellow was 2 to 3 hundred metres out. cropped about 1/3 of the image away.

Re: a couple of surf shotsthanks Andrew and Surenj....i was positioned on a lookout on the sand hills....no I've never been spoken to in anger....a lot of people walk on the beach at that time of the day, mostly they wave when passing....I did take a shot of one surfer a few weeks back and put it on smugmug, he asked me to remove it because he was having a sicky.

Having spent some time now shooting the surf and kiteboarders I am interested to know what your hit rate of keepers is ? I assume you are using CH, CL shutter mode. Say ?? - per 100. D300, D200, (D70 - now with daughter) and heaps of Nikon stuff.
