Pa,

These are brilliant, especially considering the distance.

Amazing. Have you ever got in to trouble in the beach with a long lens?

thanks Andrew and Surenj....i was positioned on a lookout on the sand hills....no I've never been spoken to in anger....a lot of people walk on the beach at that time of the day, mostly they wave when passing....I did take a shot of one surfer a few weeks back and put it on smugmug, he asked me to remove it because he was having a sicky.

Nice work Pa.
Having spent some time now shooting the surf and kiteboarders I am interested to know what your hit rate of keepers is ?
I assume you are using CH, CL shutter mode. Say ?? - per 100.
