Unusual Rock Formations

Managed to get up for sunrise once again and headed for Moffat Headland to capture these unusual rock formations which act as tidal pools. Had checked the area out on Monday with Oneputt.

I reallly like the alien feel those rock formations give and they are a nice counterpoint to the sunrise. Did you take any that were tighter on the rocks - I think they'd be an interesting subject in themselves

Yes I did but I didn't really crack it, so what I did take is not even worth processing!

beautiful image! those rocks are incredible.

i cant help but feel it is a little over sharpened though.

Yes, I can see why you would think that but it certainly isn't.
The rock is really textured - kind of like an amalgam of decomposed granite.

Its a beautiful image Bob... it almost looks like two images that have been merged (although I know it isnt).. I really like this one! :)

That foreground really pops and adds great depth to the image. Terrific shot. :)
