Nice shots! The first could use a graduated filter. What's so special about the velvia setting? Is it the augmentation of the greens?

dont like #1 much, the foreground is nice, but i think the blown out sky is too distracting. #2 and #3 on the other hand are fantastic. especially #3, its a bloody pealer.

It typically provides a richer more saturated result under daylight conditions and was/is the slide film of choice for nature and landscape photography. Not much chop for portraits though as it plays havoc with the skin tones. I also uploaded Fuji Astia profiles to the D300 which is more suited to portrait and people work.

I agree with number 3 being the pick. I've since produced a 24"x18" print and it came up a treat :D
