Me too! Fern is fav. but the rose shot interests me in that it's taken from below/side on which is un-orthodox and adds interest. I don't find the background on the rose shot distracting, in fact it compliments the flower by being stripped of just about all colour. That fern exposure is rather good! Ain't nature grand?

Matt - I actually like both shots - the fern for the designer pattern and colour - the rose coz I love flowers and I can smell this one through the monitor

I liked the fern. It would be a great base for mucking around with colour and texture.
Perhaps the rose background could have a little more blur. The left side is great, the right still looks a little like a fence.

Matt.
Like the others I love the fern. I must have spent 5 minutes looking at it sokaing up the detail. I think the crop and the symmetry really enhance the image here.
BTW Have you posted any of your wetlands shots yet - haven't seen any

I'll echo the others - the subaru symmetrical fern is great.

Matt, I did some different takes on shooting flowers however they never really turned out too good. Will have to try again.
One involved me lying on the ground with the tripod head facing vertical and taking the underside of the flower. However I think the sky was till still too light and there wasn't a lot of contrast between the flower and the sky to set off the flower.
