This is a photo of a special lady in my life. The thing I love about this pic is the way in which she is looking off camera to the left. C&C welcome.

A lovely shot and lovely special lady Chris. I think you're right about looking of frame but i would add a few of points a) the crop is a little tight IMO on the left side of frame (would have liked to have seen just a little more space to your lady's right) but this is a minor quibble. b) I would however think that removing the OOF lady on the right of frame will centre the focus on the subject a little more and consequently make a stronger image. Depends how you feel about too much manipulation? c) I wonder if toning down the rather bright opera house sails just a tad to avoid its competition with the subject d) Perhaps a slight vignetting around the right side of frame and around a little to further draw the viewers attention into main subject. Like the B&W treatment...it suits the image Chris D300??

Sorry Chris just added a few extra comments in edit mode to my original. I had another look and i thought they were useful to make. By the way i got onto a preset for lightroom from Matt Koslowski's Killer tips for lightroom called Matt's Auto Adjustment which is free and i use quite a lot as a starting point. Don't know if you use lightroom(i almost always use it and sometimes it alone) but he has a heap of very useful free presets some of which i use regularly. Anyhow for what it's worth

chris, this is spectacular. i an see what macro is saying and i agree with it, but in this case i think the crop works really well actually. i think it lends itself to the relaxed, unposed, unstaged weekend brunch kinda feel. gorgeous girl and her white top balances the white sails perfectly. i'd be blowing that up...this is a canvas sorta shot where the granininess of canvas will really set it off.

i love it.

Stunning.. one of the best portraits that I've seen in a long while.. I was going to be nitpicky and say something about the hair on her face but it kinda adds to the natural feel of this shot.. gorgeous lady btw..
