Well folks, arrived back from 3 weeks in USA, haven't had time to even look at most of my photos, let alone process them. Here's a quick one (using HDR software because of the hazy day) taken with the G9. More to follow when time allows. Ozi.

Amazing. Love it. Natural, colours, view, waterfall, etc. Print this bad-boy I reckon.

I would personally just crop about 2cm from the top.

Ha! Have you ever tried to cross an American interstate freeway, on foot? I have, and it's not recommended...

I did go into one of the most dangerous places in the USA - a McDonalds restaurant - but don't worry, I only purchased a bottle of water. I'm not that brave...

Thanks for the comment. This particular image was only from the small jpegs - I still have the raw files to work with, I just need some spare time to get some PP done.

For once in my little life I was being deadly serious (bloody hell, another pun). The Earth’s crust is very thin (plus a massive fault line) at Yellowstone and the powers to be have deemed it the most likely place for a natural doomsday to occur. I believe they have suggested a volcano many, many times more powerful than Krakatoa.

Although you’re right Max - the immediate danger would be Macc’ers

Seriously though, yes, I have read similar things for much of the northern Californian area, but I wasn't aware of the prediction at Yosemite (Yellowstone?).

I think that would indeed be Yosemite, rather than Yellowstone. There are a number of fault lines through many parts of California, and San Luis Obispo, one of the prettiest cities on the west coast, has both a major fault line, and a nuclear power station.

At Christmas, SLO positively glows.

Sorry, I misread the caption as Yellowstone but it is indeed the Yellowstone park that is the major danger area. Apparently the earth’s crust at that point is approximately 18 miles as opposed to the more normal 1,850 miles to the magma. Trees at one end of the park are dying through (it is thought) heat to the roots and bison have been gassed. The lake at the other end has risen by 100ft in the past 100 years.
