Read an article on strobist on how to make your own lightbox!
I gave it a go this arfternoon and here is what i came up with...
(I don't have a flash yet, so i had to use lamps and then set the white balance to tungsten)
Cheers,
James

Nice one, but try and even out the distance of the lights so that it's a nice even spread. The light on the left is a lot closer than the one on right and as you can see, it's creating a bit more of a hotspot on the phone. The highlight on the RHS of the phone (closer to the keypad) is much nicer and smoother.

The colouring is still a bit warm so you might want to shoot it in RAW and use the WB picker in Lightroom or another program to correct it.

Another way to create really soft light is to setup two pieces of foam card and reflect the light into the white board which will then light up the object. This way creates a larger light surface, thus creating a much softer light. The disadvantage of this method is that the light intensity will be less than if you were directing the light source straight onto the object. You'll either need to lengthen the shutter speed or increase the ISO then in order to take a properly exposed image as you want to maintain a smaller aperture, otherwise the DOF will be too short or small to have the entire object sharp.
