Went to the local beach the sarvo and managed a few shots that i can share.

Not overly impressed with them but here goes.

theres is a bit of Grain in them think its from being zoomed right out and maybe from cropping ?

Nice work Dave. A little on the tight side for the crops, but otherwise the composition is good.

Didnt notice the grain much in your posts.

#1 does not do it for me, the others are great but do need more space around them IMHO.

Ok thanks i will take the space thing on board for next time.

Just as a rought guide using the above pics would you say they need another 1 cm in certain places, like the sea gull, maybe left/right and bottom ?

Just have a play and tryout a few different crops to get the balance right, but this would be a good starting point.

The first image has a bad halo around it. Did you sharpen the image? Maybe use the Shadows/Highlight took to bring out a bit more detail in the bird? The Plover seems to have a slight halo on the RHS leg but it's a lovely image. I really like the last one as well.. :)

Good shots, but too tight I agree.

surenj - there are amazing colours to be seen in Tassie -- if one has the time to take photos.

Sadly I noted that my gear has barely been used for the last 4 months the other day when testing my latest lens out.

Dave -- another NW Tasmanian..... I'm usually over your way in Burnie for work every day (but will be in Devonport this month mainly). If ever you want to catch up, give me a yell, there are almost enough people in Tas / NW Tas to have a mini-meet now. Then we petition Gary for a forum of our own

Hi Who,
Having a catch up sounds like a good idea and a mini meet is something i was also thinking about.Might need to start a topic and see if anyone is interested.
