Not wanting to bore you with another cat image, but rather to illustrate the sharpness of the 85mm f1.8 now that I'm starting to get the hang of it. Hope that comes through in this reduced and compressed image. The original image is simply amazing! (I've added a detail of 600 x 600 pixels from the original. That should be a little better for evaluation purposes.) The f1.4 version of this lens at 3X the price is probably so good it would require me to change my pants.

No buyer's remorse for me.

While the sharpness of the lens is noted, the softness of the cat is conveyed beautifully. Nice work.

Socal, are you sure the cat is alive or stuffed? I've never seen a cat keep still for anything. Excellently clear shot though, now to try the same on my beloved daschunds...Max

Ok, I'm going to show you the 1000 shots that I have got of my Sister's cat Oscar. It really depends on the cat I guess. Plus if you have an SB-800 like I did, you can always stun the poor bugger.

kipper, BTW: You didn't use a stun gun instead of a SB-800 .

Today was my very first experience with continuous auto focus and continuous shooting. I filled up a 512mb card pretty quick on the dog and the cat, but it ensures a few good images along the way. I just love this camera!

SnowBoots was fixated on a barking beagle in the next yard about 12 meters away.

I'm not sure about her lineage, but our young neighbor girl brought her to us as a little kitten about three years ago. She couldn't keep her because her mother is allergic, but hoped we could because she was so adorable. We agreed and kept her.

 BTW N70 w/ 70mm-210mm f4-5.6 in the picture, taken with a Coolpix 5000.
