Re: Pan Sequence from tonight 24 June 2008They do look good don't they? Which technique do you use - prefocus or autofocus?
Re: Pan Sequence from tonight 24 June 2008Cool colours... Are they desaturated?
Re: Pan Sequence from tonight 24 June 2008Straight out of camera, I have only watermarked and compressed before uploading to Flickr.
I autofocus it, for these shots I used my Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 which I found has a little trouble getting off the mark to catch the front 1/4 shots so I ended up with a lot of good rear 1/4 shots. But this sequence worked well. Cameron

Re: Pan Sequence from tonight 24 June 2008wheels, i think it's a combination of both - pre-focus as the subject advances and let the AF do its thing

Re: Pan Sequence from tonight 24 June 2008Yeah, I've tried it both ways, prefocus gets you one or two good shots - autofocus tends to hunt a bit and once again only one or two good shots. I'm just going to have to practice more I think.
Re: Pan Sequence from tonight 24 June 2008These are pretty impressive due to the amount of ambient light or lack of, you are shooting in.

Re: Pan Sequence from tonight 24 June 2008I have to thank Seeto, he has been the one that has really driven me to shoot pans. I had the ISO pumped up in those and was underexposing a little from memory as it was too hard to expose correctly and shoot due to the low shutter speeds needed.
Seeto post some of your pans up!!! Cameron
