My ModelAfter a night out with my wife. She wanted some pictures taken for facebook.
Decided to take SB800 give it a bit of a run 1/60 sec at f5.6 ISO 800 40mm SB800 set at TTL pointed directly straight up into the ceiling 1/60 sec at f 5.6 ISO 800 45mm SB800 set at TTL flash pointed to the right with the white diffuser Ben Yu

Re: My ModelBen, I think the second one is much better, but you need to pay a bit more attention to the background. The white strip directly behind doesn't help. It would be better if you moved away from the wall a bit more and reduced DoF.

Re: My ModelThe white strip in the background and the bit of furniture or whatever on the lower left hand side of the frame are a bit of a distraction.
But much better than the shots I take after a night out. Edit...Phillip got there before me...nothing like simultaneous posts...
Re: My ModelThanks for the comments, hmm yeah it was in the room, should of moved her to the left or right a bit more to use the door as a backgroud or the wardrobe

Re: My Model
Do you mean if I had moved her forward more to get more DOF it would of given a better effect ? But I guess if I reduced it DOF it was be the same as the photo. I think i'm confusing myself Ben Yu

Re: My ModelWhat I mean is move the model away from the wall and use an aperture of around f2.8 that way the background would be a bit more blurred.

Re: My Model with moving the model away from the background more and the placement of that white strip. Also you may want to have a look at the WB of the shot, it may just be my monitor but she seems a little whited out with maybe just a little bit of a blue tinge.
Otherwise, top shots. Cameron

Re: My Model with the others re: background.
You may want to balance flash and ambient a bit better ie increase your f stop and flash power so background is slightly darker and the light is slightly directional and soft(due to the wall on the left)
