Just a couple more from the drags. Shows how spectacular they can really be.
Steve Read - Blower letting go.
Allan Dobson - didn't even realise he was on fire!

Amazing shots and the heat haze in the background gives the image a real sense of power and danger. As Usual brilliant work

I dunno Barry, I'd cut Brett a break here
Blower letting go at 300+kph and I'll betchya focus isn't the only thing on his mind (now where did those bits of blower go - up? Hope I'm not too close:lol:)
Nice photos Brett.

Thanks guys.
And yes the focus was late on that one, its snapped to the rear of the car (back of engine, rear wheel, wing supports). The camera and lens couldn't keep up
This was the last shot in a sequence of shots as well so he was getting pretty close to me at that stage.

Lens was the Sigma 120-300 with 1.4tc on. I was standing at about the 280 - 300' mark from the start line. Gives you an idea on the last two. The first one I was zoomed all the way back to 168mm so he was pretty much right on top of me. I was perched on the wall (well sitting on the outer lip of it) of the lane it happened in.

Did you contact BAM about these mate?
The minister for war and finance reckons they look like computer generated images! (In a good way).
