Lightroom's Develop Module

I have been experimenting with Adobe Lightroom's develop module and have found this to be quite a powerful tool. I have purchased a couple of Lightroom texts and am still very much a novice.
This is an experiment with bleaching the image to give it an understated look.

Stuart, I like this effect very much, and what a gorgeous subject :)

It is a beautiful model and very well photographed. I love the simplicity of the image. For me photography is about capturing the qualities of the subject more than the technical side of it and I think you did it here.

Nice to see you back on the forum. You have been missed! Lightroom has a bit of a learning curve and I confess at first I hated it and removed it from my computer. I'm now looking again and reluctantly making the effort to get to terms with it. You seem to be well ahead of me!

Fantastic Stuart. A beautiful shot of a beautiful little girl, but I especially love
the treatment. It has that magical quality seen in portaits of kids in the fifties
(I have one of me from about 1954 with virtually identical colouring).

Thanks for the comments. You're right Matt, I haven't posted on the forum lately as I haven't been doing much photography. However, I have been "lurking" around keeping an eye on you guys. I hope to be able to improve my lightroom skills and get some more images up in the near future, watch this space.....
