Since ducks seem to be the subject of the moment, here's mine from the weekend. It was shot at the water refuge at Bicentennial Park, Homebush. I'm still pretty new at this photography so any handy tips would be helpful. I borrowed an old 70-300mm 4-5.6. Personally I don't think I have the patience for animal photography :| ie. Waiting for the ducks to pose.

Could do with a bit of a crop (basically everything from the feet of the duck with its wings flapping down) and a colour and saturation boost. Looks like the light was a bit flat hence the need for a boost. Try getting out there on dawn, the ducks will pose a lot better for you and the light will be better as it increases. Thats my 2 cents. :D

Its started to get noisy now. I guess thats the best I could do with that photo. I'll wake up earlier this weekend and try again :)

I think the crop works well. You are right about the noise tho. Pity really. Post some of your ones from this coming weekend once you sort out your light and I'll bet they will be an improvement.
