Thanks guys :) He was sitting above the same spot our frogs were calling from - luckily he didn't stay around too long - and yes, we got the frogs :)
It always amazes me how the tawny's will just sit there and let you take photos of them - but I'm not complaining ;)

poor guy is probably seeing white for the next ten minutes :shock:

with that said it is a real nice picture....really nice positioning of that branch with respect to the bird and also position of the bird within the photo frame.....probably stating the obvious there but hey....

Nice picture. The eyes are so piercing. Makes a lovely subject and as biggerry stated framed well with the branch in proportion to the bird. Well done.

Almost perfect...bit of dodge and burn to lessen the branch and then it would be perfect!

My only saving grace was there was only 2 shots - the first was way to dark, and this one ....
and then I left him to terrorise frogs instead LOL :)
