well, here are my attempts from the weekend, tonight was the first chance I got to take a look at the pictures

I did not deal well with the scenery images with the grey cloudy sky and all. Being Botanical Gardens I thought some flower images, as cliche as they are, might be in order. Also that darn swan would not pose for me

All taken with the 55mm micro

#1 Natures Fireworks?

#2 Cliche flower shot - Note: gary, if you read this I took your advice and went with ~f6 as you suggested from a previous image - (thanks for the advice)

#3 Cross Section flower - I promise I did not touch this flower! it was like it when I got there!

#4 If that swan is not gonna pose for me he/she is gonna be OOF :x

Nice work mate,
The first one, with the right crop could be called the southern cross.
I like no.3, nice and sharp. Maybe clone out the little red bits on the right.
I've got a very similar shot to your last one but I didn't get the flowers sharp enough.

Yep #3 for me as well Gerry. They are all nice but the magnolia stands out. Are you sure there was no manipulation?
