My first topic here :) Figured I may as well join in more!

Image

I think Flickr sharpened it... more than I would like :(

This is Vicki, my Sheltie-doodle (Shetland Sheepdog x Poodles), she's the most gorgeous thing and is oh-so-obedient.

Taken on the 18/07/08 on a Canon 400d, 50mm f/1.8 lens and post-processed in Adobe Lightroom, I have a very great fondness for post-processing photos =p

Hi Karen - I don't think it is oversharpened .. it is certainly sharp, but that serves to draw your attention even more to those wonderful eyes !!!
Just beautiful !!! - and I for one can't wait to see some more !!

Irrespective of the PP on that picture, I reckon the original must have been special also! The way the dog is looking and the framing just make that picture!

Love the reflection in the eye also, the full size image would show that off excellently. I am not usually a fan of dog pictures - but this one does it for me!

great work, however is that black patch at the top due to over processing or it just happened as part of the process? It looks like a vignette gone wrong and for me, the line overpowers the top of Vicki's head.

Whoopsie, I initially thought that was my post-processing muck up, and then I checked the original and realised it was my dark brown fence
I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out and now I keep staring at it :?

Thank you for pointing that out PiroStitch! I will definitely try to avoid the fence or dark areas in the background next time I photograph her :)

And thank you every one else for the kind comments!!
