This guy is an incredibly talented street artist.

So far he's been drawing around Swanston Street and Bourke Street in Melbourne.





Both pics have had curve adjustments and the last one run through b&w conversion.

I like it. I would reduce the contrast in the background and highlight him a bit more..

I really like the first one, the muted tones you've used, makes the shot IMO.
In the second I'm greedy and want more dynamic range, or a little bit of light bouncing back at him. I actually prefer a tight landscape crop (but it then becomes a very different picture).

Looked at the first with my desktop monitor and I like it! Hmm.. my laptop is not so good me thinks. funnily enough they are both DELL.

I like the first one. Like the tones and the crowd in the background busily walking by. If possible, I would emphasize the stationary artist in the foreground and passing people by shooting at slower shutter speed to accentuate the motion of the crowd walking by, but that's just a matter of taste.

The 2nd one I feel just has too much detail lost in the shadow. If I didn't know it was the artist or if I didn't see the first photo, I would be having hard time telling exactly what the photo was depicting.

The first is a great capture wayne. I can see what you were trying to achieve in the second but i agree with others about the loss of detail detracting a little from the overall effect. I do like the angled shaft of light leading to the artist.

I am going to stand apart from the crowd and say I like the second shot a lot. I like the artist in shadow, to me it's clear what he is doing though of course I did view the image knowing already, so it isn't a true reaction but I think the hand and his tools of the trade nearby are good enough clues to anyone viewing this image - I like that you have to look at it properly to get the context. In particular having him shaded like that takes away his identity and makes this a stronger image. It's no longer of that artist in particular but more general.

That's a bad way to say what I mean but I had a big weekend away and I'm tired!
