Geoff, lovely colours and composition. To me, the only thing that lets it down is that I would prefer to see the actual life preserver a bit sharper.
I feel this image could adapt to that "miniaturisation" process really well (if you like that kind of thing).

Found myself looking at this for a long time - then my first though was gotta get up to the northern beaches when I have a chance.
Really nice shot imo.
