HI can you post the normal exposure image as a comparison to the benefits of HDR as I am very interested in the concept but this image looks grainy and low quality --jim

I always find HDRs awesome - and looking at the sets f phots i think its turned out nicely -- although the colours just to me seems a little rich - i like number one of the original set too

Hi Mozzie thanksI am not aHDR expert but love the concept And yes i think the HDR fin product is too contrasty also there should be mors detail in the shadow areas of the m/c as seen in the + exposure image. However in the interest of continual improvement keep going--jim

Hi,

What were you focussing on / metering off?
Were you using spot metering (meters from the centre or selected focus point) or matrix metering (meters from the entire scene average) (They are the nikon terms ... not sure what they are called on your camera.)

For me the shot you label as -1 EV looks to be the best exposed of the group. You can still see most of the detail in the gravel behind the machine

The shot labelled 0 EV looks to have more elements that are blown (over exposed) already and therefore you will lose detail in those components.

For me the HDR in this case is too rich in the colours portrayed. I think I would also prefer a closer crop. Maybe just of the machine in portrait mode, and not the whole area. Are you able to physically get closer and or zoom in?
