I didn't see this behaviour while I was capturing this in flight shot but was highly amused with it when processing later.
This Osprey is shaking himself dry in the same manner as a dog would - eyes closed and all.
I do have the full wingspread but cropped it down to diplay the behavior accounting for web limitations.

I'll bet you never noticed that until you opened the image afterwards. It is a great capture
