Hi All,

Was hoping for a little opinion on these 2 photos. Any comments welcome.

They are both ok photos but I find the white in the first too distracting (may be crop), i am not sure about the second though...

Thanks for the reply.
The 1st one was cropped down not a lot. It was a chance shot, and the people around the photo of Kartikayen (?) created a border in it's self. Would you suggest post editing to soften down the whiteness?
Is it possible to elaberate more on the 2nd one? The setup was i knew the rear wheel drive cars always pulled hard on the hand brake, so i was trying to get the slow shutter blur, but panning on the rear tyre to capture that. Should i crop it? forcus more on the wheel?
Any help/info appriciated.

I quite like the first, shows how difficult it can be to break into the inner sanctum of F1, even surrounding a rookie, back of the grid driver as Narain was.

I like em both.

Especially love the Dato shot mid hand brakey.

I like the DOF in the first image, and it suits B&W conversion. I would be careful of the blown highlights on the shoulder of the guy in the fore ground. Good eye to get the shot.

The second shot is good panning, and nicely saturated and is very sharp. I'd be cropping closer to the rear wheel only, as having the front of the car cropped the way you have it currently, makes it look like you missed the shot. By cropping closer to the action end of the car, it looks more intentional.

Was on a pit walk, Sunday morning. The celebrity challenge was on at the time. When i got down to the end of the lane, i say a lot of people where the safety car was, then i say Jenson getting interviewed. We were being told to keep walking out, and i thought to myself, well, i can't repeat it hear. So i went and had a look, there was Jenson, Jacques, Takuma & Narian. I just kept rattling off shots. Good fun. Then as i as leaving there, all the photogs were gathering cause they were about to run out to set up for the drivers photos. I don't think i have ever been so tempted to risk getting thrown out of the event as i was then to run out with them! It would have been easy to get lost in the mix. But i did the right thing, still kicking myself, but what do you do!

I still beleive a lot of it was "luck" (i hate that word) in getting the first shot. The b&W conversion is better, the colour just looks , "normal"!!

I know what you mean by the cropping. Wasn't completly sure what i was doing when i was trialing cropping it, so i left it. Just nothing seemed right about it. But i will keep trying.

Thanks to all for the feedback. It is really appriciated to get others opinions, good or bad. hopefully, i can take them on board, and try and get more better shots.

I quite like the first shot, but I'd be tempted to darken the bright oof clothing in the foreground.

The second shot takes me back, it's a bit hard to tell for sure, as there aren't any stock 1600's left, but that looks like a later model (post 1970), but in any case, the shot is ok, might work better cropped or as part of a series of the car doing the turn...

My version of that car was pinched from the nature strip outside home and rolled into the gutter. Culprits walked away. Very disappointing. In retrospect, they probably saved me the trouble of doing the same thing, it was indecently quick and the handling was pin sharp on RD102's and 2.5 degrees of negative camber all round.
