Tug of War
Posted: Mon Aug 25, 2008 10:58 amI was doing some digging and hard landscaping in the garden over the weekend and in moving soil / rocks etc. came a cross a snake (id anyone?), anyway rushed in doors to get the camera, came back out not more than 1 minute later to see a Kookaburra going for the kill! As I approached to take some photos with the 18-200 attached, the kookie flew up onto the boundary fence that adjoins an Avocado plantation to the rear of my garden. The snake latched onto the fence and the tug of war began. I managed to shoot of a sequence, moved my position to get a better angle, scared the kookie which let go of the snake, Snake then fell to the ground, kookie was straight onto it and flew off in to the Avo plantation with the snake dangling. I guess the kookie won the battle in the end!
