This is a very very different type of shot for me.... my wife wanted a 'minimalist art piece' to put on the wall .... not my cup of tea.. but she likes it... so.... here's the result...



This was just a shot of the water coming out of the sprinkler and being hit by the setting sun. No PP apart from slight usm and +10 saturation.

Exif details as follows:

Shutter: 1/3sec handheld
Aperture: f/40
Focal: 300mm
Exposure: manual

This is an original image if nothing else Xerubus. I like it, it's easy to gaze at. Plenty happening - the darker areas make the image for mine.
It posseses tapestry / textural / tactile apperance. Minimalist yes, mediocre no. It would make a medium / large print without fuss?

thanks for the comments Matty B. yeh... my wife was after something around 12x18... this will print fine...

that being said... i'm going to wonder why every time i walk past it i have never been able to figure out why people like things like a bit of paint splattered all over the place in caos... or a black canvas with a couple of specs of grey on it...

Variety is the spice of life, it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round etc. etc. To me it looks like it could be a macro exposure of a fire sparking / crackling. I've shot several bonfires over the years and this is the sort of thing a fire like that appers like on film. You have a fan in your wife, it pleases her...........writings on the wall (or photo in this case)!
Hang it and keep visitors guessing.
