Patrick and I ventured out for a sunrise shoot this morning at North Narrabeen.
I'm no Bob G but here's a few of my faves thus far. Comments/critique welcomed:

Yep, worth getting up for these. #2 works wonderfully with those almost golden hues in the water, while the reflections and the green of the seaweed in #4 makes for a strong image too. #1 lacks a little punch - more contrast or a curves adjustment perhaps.

My rework of #1 - done in Lightroom 2 (see LR screenshot to show what I did)

Note to both Geoff and Peter - the horizon is out of whack by 0.57° on the horizontal.

#1 - An excellent early morning shot

#1 (Peter) - although I like the treatment it tends to bring the pic into more of a late morning shot. It loses that cooler feel of early morning.

#2 - The shot without the thongs - I like

#3 & #4 as per the other post no points of real interest

I know! Patrick said it'd be fun...so I'm gullible :)
Ok ok...it was fun, and once I was up and out of bed, enjoying the sunrise was fantastic :D

Great shots #1 & 2. The LR treatment on 2 does add pop but does change the feel slightly.

# 3 & 4 may have been better if thry were shot before the sun came over the horizion. You may have then had some colour in the clouds and that lovely surrel effect on the rocks that you get from a longer or blended exposure.

A reverse grad nd filter is always helpful, ask BobG. :D

Geoff, I really like the first two of these best. I have to wait a week or two to see my photos taken at that time.

The ones I took with that fan-dangled digital thing were taken after the sun was up.
