Phoebe in the Park

My, but it's been a LONG TIME since I was in here. Work has been really busy, and of course we now have a financial burden to attend to. Been taking lots of photos of course, but most of the opportunistic type, and nothing really to display on the forums.

This weekend though, we did a couple of "proper" shoots with Phoebe (she is now almost 5 months old). On Saturday, we took her out to Fagan Park, near Galston.. and on Sunday, we took some shots at home.

Keen to get a bit of feedback - been out of the game for a few months now :)

------

This is the first shoot. All shots taken with a D300 and 85/1.4 @ f/5.6. One single SB-800 with a Lightsphere II diffuser + dome. Mounted on a light stand and triggered with pocket wizards.

The last location was rushed, I didn't realise I had the shadow across her face, the flash was in the wrong spot.

She is so going to kill you for this one day!

But my lord she is cute (and tolerant too by the looks of it).. 3rd is my favourite but the depth of colour is probably a little better in the first two.. :)

Thanks for the feedback bindii :)

She certainly was tolerant that day despite the ridiculous costumes, lack of naptime and 30+ temperatures!! That flower photo was right at the end of the trip so her patience was definitely wearing thin and I didn't have time to really set up the shot and lights as I'd have liked.. Next trip! :)

I think these will be great to put on the invite cards to all her friends for her 16th birthday!

with five different out fits to do this to Phoebe with, we may well see a child against parent court case in about 16 years.

Des - the 2nd one here is the absolute winner here imho.
The first one, to me looks too wistful, contemplative for a youngster of this age.
Great to see you got down to her level to shoot these but I believe the eye contact, lack of shadows and the tight crop on Phoebe makes this shot shine!
The last shot (very Anne Geddes) is nice, but I have never been a fan of the Anne Geddes style, and this one reminds me too much of that hehe. That's not to say that Phoebe isn't gorgeous.
Well done and thanks for sharing mate.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone :)

I guess with us not really having a lot of time lately, most of our photos have been taken as candid shots. Nice lighting usually, and with good gear, but the backgrounds and setups were not as formal as I would like in order to post on the forums! So it was nice to set up some shots in a nice controlled environment for a change.

Geoff, the Geddes style WAS deliberate, believe it or not :) Ripping her off royally for the hilarity factor.
