Just gorgeous. Another beautiful image.
Taken with the kit lens again like the previous one, I'm assuming?

This goes to show that we should probably lust a little less after bigger and better lenses and accessories and instead just be better photographers and do more with the tools already in our camera bags. :)

hi

The first one is better. The second one has distracting highlights.

Where did you take these lilies?

Arthur

I like this one and think the crop is much better. Those colours are really nice. Great shot.

Stunning ChaPPy - if taken with the kit lens, then this pic has to be the best I have ever seen from this lens :D

Hey Chappy, did you come to the Melbourne meet at Totos?

Ps, where the hell are you shooting these lillies, can't be in Melbourne. Theres no sun here, just rain :)

Ok, hope you don't mind but just thought I'd show you what it looks like with the flower selected and removed to a black background. Was fairly rushed < 5min so the stem is a bit incorrect :)

Kipper, you right - looks better with black background...I'll be doing that before I print it.

It's just shot with the kit lens and as SoCal Steve says, rather spend time with your current kit and learn how to use it. I would love a proper macro lens and that's prob. the next thing I'll buy. I used to have a Sony DSC S75 and a polarizing filter and that was it. Used that for 3 years. Now I've upgraded to this stunning Nikon Camera and enjoy every shot with it.

Sorry guys, didn't get to the Melboure meetings yet. This was taken just outside Melbourne at a place called Blue Lotus Waterlily & Lotus Farm. This is 25 minutes from Lilydale on the Warburton H'way (Melways 288 H8). (Any more exact and I'll have to drive you there!)

I've got a few more shots to come is this "series".. :)

Kipper, get over there and have a look at the flowers in the "hot house" as it gives you very nice diffused light on a sunny day. I'll be going back there for sure. They are only open Jan-April.

Out of interest what days did you go....roughly what temperatures, clear sky etc?
