Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

And everyone else! Macro is often looked upon as a means to take close up photos of flowers or insects. But, there are thousands of other objects that lend themselves to macro. Look around your home, as the pics below show, and you will find so much to photograph and practice techniques.

The following photos were all taken with the Sigma 105mm speed 1/60th. aperture f/16. The camera flash was set to commander and the SB800 to remote TTL. All shots are handheld.

hmmm...I can achieve this after 2-3 hours @ 'Macro Meet' :!: .

Realistically speaking I don't think so, but I will be better off than I am at present: sucks :( . BTW: I am listening to a new CD I purchased this morning from one of your fellow countryman 'ROD STEWART - THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK COLLECTION'. (This Special Package Contains 3 CDs).

Chris,

Lousy weather again today, 15-20 knot gusting wind :( . I don't think tomorrow is going to be any better.

I can't do shoots inside, and I will send PM shortly to explain. BTW: I like your inside shots... bugger, bugger :!: . The threaded shaft, is that part of a press :?: .

Rod Stewart is a smart artist, he knows where the bucks ($$$$) are.

I only wish I could produce a shot like that, but it now gives me a goal.

I followed your instruction today. Practice makes perfect, but not quite there, but in IMO I am getting better. BTW: another shot from today from a Nikon 60mm f/2.8 macro lens:

Happy to see you get the Nik out and tried! lot better than the Sig you used yesterday though (all at your level of exepriences in Macro) 8)
