Well, not really - but it looks like that when kitesurfers are getting some serious air. Shooting into the sun meant silhouettes were the go with the object of the exercise being to create something more 'graphic' than 'photographic'. C&C most welcome

I really like this shot! It's really nice to see something different than your typical shots. I don't think i've really seen many good silhouette shots with kitesurfing!

Nice job!

Where were you when you took the shot?

Cheers Phoenix ;-)

This was taken at Wellington Point, east of Brisbane. There's a long spit that goes out to King Island, walkable at low tide, that provides a great vantage point for snapping these aerialists. If, like me, you wade out knee-deep in the water, you can get snap them flying right over the top of you. They're a shy lot (NOT) and love playing up to cameras.

Love the composition and colour. It would be great to use as a page with a title on it. I am undecided on the large flare though.

Thanks Surenj. A deliberate intention with the way I cropped it. Reminiscient of something I saw a few years ago on a climbing magazine - a guy hanging from an overhang in a similar way with the text on the left of the page.

Great shot Simon
A young bloke from work took up kite surfing last week, I have started thinking about going out and getting some shots.

Wow !!! Superb shot Simon - and the added water droplets hanging mid air add to an already top shot !!!
Wicked :)
Must be time we all caught up - I saw Madam Bindi through the airport last week, so the pub is looking mighty inviting !!!! ;)
