2x2 #1 Theme - PathAt the start of our walk, Stubbsy made us all pick a theme which we needed to capture during the walk.
Mine was "path" These were some of my ideas I rejected this one as it was blurry. However, seeing on the big screen, I like it more. While, yes it is blurry, (HH at 1/2 Sec), it conveys a sense of movement that to me is the essence of path. Similar to the one I entered, but felt that an empty path was not what I wanted. I did like the curve and symmetry though. I think this is the one I entered (We were limited to choice by Chimping). If not it is another from the same bracket set A classic "Path" shot, but felt it was going nowhere. Greg

Re: 2x2 #1 Theme - PathGreg,
I like the first three; I agree that the forth seems to be a path to nowhere. With that curved path, did you perchance think of asking if anyone had a fisheye for you to play with? I'm thinking that a fisheye, a low viewpoint, and that curved path ... I also appreciate that you have taken the time to post the other images that you shot in trying to meet the demands of the challenge. I think there is much in these shots, and the thought processes they embody, from which we can all benefit. g.

Re: 2x2 #1 Theme - PathGreg, that first is a cracker, looks very interesting on a big screen. I agree the people add to the path.

Re: 2x2 #1 Theme - Path(Have been away from the internet for a few days)
Gary, No I didn't, but I was using the Sigma 10-20. Set to 13mm as that seemed to suit the framing I was after. I used my tripod with no legs extended, so I was about 300mm off the ground and about 500mm from the nearest edge of the path. Lower would have been difficult, though not impossible. In some ways, the tripod was a mistake as it limited my choices of viewpoint. In my mind that is. It did allow me to be precise in my framing though. It slowed me down and got me looking at the entire frame. Always one of my downfalls. I am a sucker for the "pole out of someone's head" mistake
I agree too. Next meet I will have to lug along the computer so I don't have to use the D200 screen to choose my entry. Mind you, Pam had it worse. Her D70 made it almost impossible to choose. When we looked on the big screen, she had much better shots than the one she entered. Greg

Re: 2x2 #1 Theme - Path
Greg, the little screen worked for me, my reflections looks crap on a PC unless you are about a metre or so away so the reflection dominates, on the little screen you are already 600mm away so the reflection worked. When I saw them full size here your path image was my favourite (though now seeing the blurred path I would be hard pressed to choose!) http://wolfeyes.com.au Tactical Torches - Tactical Flashlights Police torch rechargeable torch military torch police military HID surefire flashlight LED torch tactical torch rechargeable wolf eyes flashlight surefire torch wolf eyes tactical torchpolice torch
