Tiny Spider

Here are a couple of shots of a tiny spider from the weekend. I think it is a sort of crab spider, but I haven't been able to find it in my books or the usual sites. Its arm span was around 10mm - i.e. I was getting close to 1:1. It was difficult coping with shallow DOF.

Taken with D300 and 60mm f/2.8D with SB-800 and softbox. Exif has more data. Both images are uncropped and only had a slight amount of PP.

Great shots considering dof you have done a good job of framing to keep the subject square to your view thus in focus--jim

Great macros Andrew. #1 in particular is exceptional and has just the right DOF IMHO - we even get a wisp of his web.

Cool shots Andrew, I love spiders, especially little fragile ones like this fella. (My wife hates spiders, yet she will go up and pat a huge dog on the street...figure!)

The nice green background adds an excellent touch to some great images.
