And you find insects that are 'sleeping' so are a lot less likely to fly away ;)

Suniana sunias - the orange dart

Argiocnemis rubescens - red tipped shadefly (this is a female, the males have a bright red tip to the abdomen, hence the name )

Litoria fallax - common sedge frog - well I had to post a photo of a frog didn't I ???? ;)

The negative space in the last shot it great. Forces your eye straight to the subject matter.

Rel, the shadefly in 2 is tremendous. Seems like a lot to see wandering in a swamp :D

just dam nice work as always.......... you keep coming up with such fine pixs using a D70.........

and getting a D700 will only improve your success .........
