Hey everyone - this is my very first picture post to dslrusers.

This thing scared the crap out of me the first time it flew over. I can't believe how quick they travel - seems faster than an F1-11?

Can anyone tell me what sort of fighter jet this is? It looks like a Hornet.

Yes, they are F-18 and are to soon replace the old F-111, but it does not do the fuel "dump & burn" as of F-111.

Definately a hornet. The perspective looks like you were almost leaning over backwards to get the shot.

Looks like an F/A-18B two seat trainer, mind you these are slated for retirement in 2015...

The newer F/A-18F will be an interim replacement for the F111 in 2010.

Yeah, I can see your POV. But I was actually in the pit paddock looking straight above. The pilot was just showing off his skills.
